Wausau, WI – The Miss Wausau Area Scholarship Organization is thrilled to announce that Avery Manthe has been crowned Miss Wausau Area 2025 and Anna Jacobson has been crowned Miss Wausau Area’s Teen 2025! The event took place on November 2, 2024, at the UW Center for Civic Engagement, where talented contestants showcased their intelligence, grace, and commitment to community service.
Avery, an 18-year-old student at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, who grew up in Spencer, impressed the judges with her poise, passion, and talent. Her platform, “Voter Turnout Advocacy,” focuses on voter registration and voter turnout. Avery’s dedication to this cause, along with her captivating performance of a HERStory monologue, earned her the title of Miss Wausau Area 2025.
At just 16 years old, Anna is a student at D.C. Everest High School who impressed the judges with her grace, enthusiasm, and skill to earn her the title of Miss Wausau Area’s Teen 2025. Her initiative, “Nutritious yet Delicious: Healthy Breakfasts for Teens,” aims to educate young people about healthy eating and supply nutritious meals to teenagers in the Wausau community. For her talent presentation, Anna delivered a vocal rendition of “Thank You for The Music.”
In addition to the crown, Avery and Anna received a $1,000 scholarship each to further their education and will represent the Wausau Area community at the Miss Wisconsin & Miss Wisconsin’s Teen Competition next summer.
The pageant featured a panel of esteemed judges, performances from our “Little Lilacs”, and a tribute to the outgoing titleholder, Lauren Hjelsand, who has made significant contributions to the Wausau community during her reign. An additional $3,700 in scholarships was handed out in various awards through Volunteerism, STEM, and runner up awards.
