The next Miss Wausau Area Scholarship Competition will be held on November 7, 2026. By the end of the competition, Miss Wausau Area 2027 & Miss Wausau Area’s Teen 2027 will be selected.
Phases of competition

This portion of the competition is worth 30% of your overall score. During the private interview, you’ll have the chance to share your story and passions with the judges. They may ask about your paperwork, current events, or how you envision serving as a titleholder. Above all, this is your moment to shine with authenticity and confidence. This phase of competition is designed to strengthen the skills that will carry you far beyond the competition — whether in future job interviews, media opportunities, or leadership roles. It’s a powerful opportunity to celebrate your accomplishments, articulate your goals, and show the heart and drive that makes you uniquely prepared to lead in the Wausau Area community.

This portion of the competition is worth 20% of your overall score. The talent portion of the competition is your opportunity to showcase a skill that reflects your individuality in a performance no longer than 90 seconds. Whether you are a seasoned performer or still discovering what your talent could be, this phase celebrates the diverse strengths that each young woman brings to the Miss America program. Traditional talents like singing, dancing, and playing an instrument are always welcome — but the stage is also open to unique and unexpected talents such as science demonstrations, basketball routines, math lectures, archery displays, and so much more. This is your moment to share something that represents you, to step into the spotlight with confidence, and to show the judges (and yourself!) what you are capable of.

This portion of the competition isn’t about the dress: it’s about how you carry yourself, how you express your individuality, and how you shine from within. It’s a moment to celebrate your confidence, poise, and the strength that makes you uniquely you.
Wardrobe should never be a concern when it comes to your ability to compete. That’s why we have the Miss Wausau Area closet that rents out gowns and other attire for free! -

The health and fitness phase celebrates your commitment to a balanced, healthy lifestyle and the confidence that comes from taking care of your mind and body. This isn’t about achieving a certain look—it’s about showcasing strength, energy, and the habits that help you thrive. As you take the stage, you’ll demonstrate not only physical fitness, but also the discipline and resilience that fuel success in every area of life.

The onstage question is your opportunity to speak with clarity, confidence, and purpose as you share your thoughts on a topic in real time. This moment highlights your ability to think on your feet, communicate effectively, and express what matters to you. It’s a chance to show the judges, and the audience, your authenticity and leadership qualities that make you ready to represent your community.

Age Eligibility:
Teen: Ages 13-18 years old as of June 15, 2027
Miss: Ages 18-28 years old as of June 15, 2027
Individuals who are 18 years old as of June 15, 2027 can elect to compete in either Teen or Miss.
For both Teen & Miss, geographic or education eligibility is as shown below
Be a United States citizen
Live, work full-time, or go to school within Marathon, Lincoln, Taylor, Clark, or Portage Counties or the town of Marshfield.
Be in reasonable health to fulfill the titleholder requirements of competing for Miss Wisconsin.
Build valuable life skills—such as interviewing, public speaking, and effective communication—that will support you in everyday situations.
Earn meaningful scholarship funds to help you pursue college or graduate education.
Discover your strengths and grow your confidence.
Explore new interests and open the door to exciting opportunities.
Form lifelong friendships and connect with leaders throughout your community.
Experience the pride that comes from using your time in positive, purposeful ways.
