WAUSAU, WI – The Miss Wausau Area Scholarship Organization has announced its 2026 titleholders. Janae Bond, of Mosinee, was crowned Miss Wausau Area 2026, and Chloe Munguia, of D.C. Everest High School, earned the title of Miss Wausau Area’s Teen 2026 during the competition held on November 1 at the UW Center for Civic Engagement.
Contestants were judged on talent, interview skills, health and fitness, onstage question, and evening gown presentation.
Bond, 23, is a student at Northcentral Technical College. Her community service initiative, “Not Just a Limp,” raises awareness about canine health. She also performed a dance to “Boogie Wonderland” during the talent portion of the competition.
Munguia, 15, impressed judges with her initiative “Resilience in Action,” which focuses on teen mental health awareness and resources. She performed a lyrical dance to “I Know The End” as her talent.
Both Bond and Munguia received $1,000 scholarships to further their education and will advance to compete at the Miss Wisconsin and Miss Wisconsin’s Teen competitions next summer.
This year’s event also featured performances from the organization’s Little Lilacs program and a farewell tribute to outgoing titleholders Anna Jacobson and Avery Manthe, who were recognized for their contributions to the Wausau community. In total, an additional $3,700 in scholarships was awarded for achievements in volunteerism, STEM, and other categories.
