New Berlin, WI – Avery Manthe, Miss Wausau Area 2025 and a proud native of Spencer, represented her community with excellence during the weeklong Miss Wisconsin Competition in New Berlin. Manthe was honored with several awards, including Overall Interview, Heart of Miss Wisconsin, and Non-Finalist Interview, earning over $1,600 in scholarships from the state competition. This brings her total scholarships earned since competing for Miss Wausau Area to over $3,200.
Manthe arrived on June 15 to participate in a variety of community service events alongside fellow contestants. Throughout the week, she competed in several phases of competition: interview, talent, evening gown, health and fitness, and onstage question. The competition featured two preliminary rounds and concluded with the final night of competition and the crowning of Miss Wisconsin on Saturday, June 21.
While Manthe was not selected as Miss Wisconsin 2025, she returned to the Wausau area with pride, ready to crown her successor at the upcoming Miss Wausau Area Scholarship Competition on November 1, 2025.
Miss Wausau Area’s Teen 2025, Anna Jacobson, also represented the region at the state level, competing for the title of Miss Wisconsin’s Teen on Friday, June 20. Jacobson earned a $100 scholarship for her non-finalist placement, in addition to the $1,600 she received at the local competition last fall. She now prepares to begin her senior year at D.C. Everest Senior High School and will pass on her Teen title during this fall’s local competition.
