The Miss Wausau Area Scholarship Organization is a staple of the Central Wisconsin community. As a 501(c)3 local organization in the Miss America Opportunity, the Miss Wausau Area Scholarship Organization is dedicated to empowering local women and providing them with tuition scholarships to support their educations. As a local preliminary competition, the winners of Miss Wausau Area and Miss Wausau Area’s Teen go on to compete at the state Miss Wisconsin competitions for their respective age divisions (Teen, Miss).
To date, approximately $13,000 in scholarships has been awarded to 20 women from central Wisconsin. However, the organization goes further then awarding scholarships. Our titleholders are active in the community by giving back and serving as role models. Contestants learn and reinforce public speaking skills, interview skills, confidence, and so much more during their time in the organization. The Miss Wausau Area Scholarship Organization is a force for positive change in the community, and an event you certainly don’t want to miss!
